AI Chat Exporter is designed with a privacy-first philosophy.
The extension does not collect, store, transmit, or share personal information, conversation history, browsing activity, analytics, or usage statistics.
Local Processing
All processing is performed locally inside your browser.
When you export a conversation, AI Chat Exporter reads the conversation currently open in ChatGPT and generates the selected Markdown or JSON file directly on your device.
No conversation content is sent to external servers.
Permissions
The extension requests only the permissions required for its functionality.
- downloads — Saves exported files to your device.
- storage — Stores user preferences such as language, export format, compact mode, and export options.
- Host permission (chatgpt.com) — Reads the currently open ChatGPT conversation only to generate the requested export.
